2 - Reflect
On many occasions we have heard about how God influences us and blesses us with gifts that help us to cope with different moments in our lives. All of this forges us in character, patience and spirit, but nevertheless, there are situations that we cannot modify, processes that we must endure no matter how well-intentioned we are. Take for example the case of a loved one who is battling a complicated illness.
Of course, you may have already organized a prayer chain and arranged your schedule to lend a helping hand at the sick person's home, but you will still have to wait for the results of the tests, wait for the medication to take effect or wait to see how the patient evolves.
In such situations you can do nothing, so it is a good time to ask yourself some questions: Why can't I do anything about it? Why doesn't God do something at this moment? What does God want to teach me with all this? Personally, I am one of those who believe that everything happens for a reason, and that everything is directly traversed by God's will. So it is not at all illogical to think that what Christ intends for all of us in such circumstances, is that we forge our patience waiting with faith that everything will be for the best, and in that way our trust in Christ will grow.
