Changes to inner peace
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”
John 14:27

2 - Reflect
There are people who in a matter of seconds can alter our peace: those who only share their complaints or dislikes daily to us, who tell us about their fears, their sorrows, and become judges of other people's lives. We may feel upset about not fulfilling our promises and going back on our word when perhaps we did not want to assume that responsibility from the start and we commit ourselves only to please others. Maybe we spend hours doing something we do not enjoy or even like doing in order to ensure our livelihood. Also, we may have told lies or been deceptive when trying to care for others, as if it would free them from the pain that knowing the truth would cause.
All these attitudes and relationships can take away our inner peace, but it will be easy to rejoice in them if we are in contact with God the Father. If we maintain a moment of daily reflection we will find the best course of action and we will not expose ourselves to situations that cause negative feelings or confusion. Inner peace should be our guide for good works and for sharing well with our brothers. Without it, we will take steps that can bring us discomfort and despair, and take us away from Our Divine Father.
