2 - Reflect
My family had always been blessed with food at our table. My parents were well off, they were dedicated professionals, recognized worldwide for their advances in medicine. We never needed anything, but we were brought up so that we always remained humble and understood that the reality that other children were experiencing might not be the same as ours.
We decided to go to the park one day all together, we brought different types of food and we got ready to have lunch in the sun. That's when we saw a woman asking for food near where we sat. My father did not hesitate a second: he invited the lady and her little son to stay and share the food. She told us what was happening to her, why she now had to beg in the streets. Many of those who were in that place looked away when they passed her asking, but my father gave us a lesson. We must always be attentive to those who are in need, in need of food, of love, of a word of encouragement to continue on, or going through painful situations. That day our family was the one that provided support and food, tomorrow we could be the ones to receive it.
