Counting our blessings

“And let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not lose heart.”
Galatians 6:9

2 - Reflect
Many times we get upset with our own routines. Moody and tired, we shout: "I have to go to work", "I have to go to school", "today I will have a very hectic day", "I will be home very late". Starting the day by listing a series of duties instead of seeing them as a series of opportunities will take us away from the real truth. The truth is that these are not issues that should make us upset, but quite the opposite. We are truly talking about opportunities and blessings that Our Lord has for us to traverse every day.

We usually disguise the blessings of stressful or things that are imposed on us when they are very far from our reality. We have fought hard to be able to advance in the careers we chose, or to have the jobs we dreamt of or better yet to pursue our goals. So, waking up with a bad disposition or seeing those activities as something tedious will not be appropriate and will take away from what we have worked so hard for. Speaking about our blessings and always being grateful to God the Father for making them a reality will be a way for us to remain optimistic even when we find ourselves too tired or weak to face the day. There are people who have not yet received attention for their prayers, perhaps it is not yet time for God to glorify them, but to those who He has responded it would be wrong to be ungrateful.
