Committing to do something means an act of good faith. When we assume a given task for others we are not only giving our word to do the task but we are also wagering our own responsibility. If we fail to do it or to turn in what was asked of us, we are committing a serious breach, since our brethren will no longer trust our commitment. Going back on our word has serious consequences for our future, because it will define our character and our own will. A reverse situation may happen as well and then we will size up the things we do not want done to us.
Just as we should keep our word and act in a manner that has value, we must also impose the same rules on others. If someone cheats us or lies to us, we must try to bring them closer to God's path, because they may be acting wrongfully. Set limits on ourselves and others so that there will be no room for mutual distrust or to avoid trampling on respect and the weight of our word. When we do not fulfill what we took upon ourselves we ar not only failing our neighbors but we will be in breach with God the Father and He will know how to communicate it.
