Fraternity
“if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

Little by little we have lost sight of how important it is to stay together as brethren. Nowadays it is hard to pay enough attention to what is happening around us. We are much more concerned with superficial things, than how our neighbors are doing. Therefore, children who sleep in the streets, people without any access to education, sick people who cannot be treated in a hospital, become “common”, in situations that, since they are daily occurrences, do not deserve our attention.
That lack of attention is often not related to an act of evil on our part, but in a lack of commitment. Perhaps, we are overwhelmed by how much there is to do and we do not know where to start, or how to approach it. The truth is that with just a small gesture we may surely change reality at least a little for those who have to live it up close and personal . God will reward us if we are more compassionate and supportive and look to the needs of others instead of only at our own. Our Lord will be watching over us and our brethren, but we must work together as faithful children and give our help whenever we can.
