We often make ourselves available for others to tell us which way to go. We await their advice to make the best choice, or their assuring words to show us how to solve certain problems. It is good Christian practice to be able to listen to others and follow their lessons, but that should not deviate us from our own way of doing things. Only Our Heavenly Father will give us the best advice and will watch over our welfare and care, but we still have to do it for ourselves as well.
When we are at the mercy of what others want for us, we may often lose sight of our own path. Our choices, wrong or otherwise, will give us the maturity we need in order to take charge of our lives. Although God will be there at all times when we need His word of encouragement or in those moments when we are overcome by uncertainty, we have to take action for our own destinies. Lending ourselves to imitating our brethren will take away part of our essence. Copying acts of solidarity, listening, helping those who need it, are all good choices, but everyone has to explore their own convictions and walk their individual path at the hand of God the Father.
