We are constantly required to answer. In the digital age we are receiving different stimuli simultaneously and we believe we must pay attention to all of them. A message we did not reply, a phone call we did not answer, an urgent email. People are constantly sending us signals that require a simultaneous response but it is worth asking ourselves: Is it truly important to answer right at this moment? The truth is that it can all wait, except our contact with God.
If we allow all that noise and distraction push us away from what is truly important, which is our relationship to God, then we will be making a mistake. Saving our time for Him, to meditate and understand our true calling will give us a different perspective on which priorities we must attend to. When we put other things before our relationship with our Heavenly Father, we may lend importance to situations that should not take up all our energies. However, if we are aligned with our duties as Christians, we will understand that there is a time for all things and all the activities or demands are not urgent and in no way can replace our time with God. Peaceful and deep meditation on what is going on around us will allow us to find better ways to respond.
