2 - Reflect
Surely someone has hurt or disappointed you at some point. They can harm us, perhaps without bad intentions or acting from ignorance. When someone hurts us we can choose to take several paths. The grudge will not be the most tedious ever, both for others and for ourselves. To be suspicious of a situation that happened or with another person demands an energy that can leave us exhausted. Also, there are those who want to take revenge for what happened. Doing the same thing to them that they did to us will send us in a spiral from which we can hardly leave. What would be the difference between those who hurt us and ourselves if we perpetuate the pain?
Being aware of the damage, trying to repair it, and forgiving with sincerity will be the right choice. In order to be more compassionate and friendly, more supportive and less selfish we will have to take a more comprehensive look at what happened. Our daily conversation with God the Father will serve to give perspective to issues that have nothing to do with our improvement as Christians. Evaluating what happens day by day will clear the image of different confusions and will keep us balanced in the word of Our Lord even when anger clouds our sight.
