2 - Reflect
Have you ever heard "I'm too busy to get together" or "I have a lot of work, I'll talk you soon"? Many of my brethren have said it to me, perhaps I have said it often as well. The truth is that we postpone more and more activities that can bring us happiness such as meeting up with friends. We do it because we believe we are exhausted from work, with no time for what really matters. We get home tired after a long day and we do not even have the strength for a good family chat. Much less to talk and meditate with God, and that takes us much further away from our faith.
Taking some time daily to think about what is happening to us and what we want for the future is important in order to keep our cool. Staying close to friends and family will give us a much needed perspective on the priorities in our lives. God the Father will always walk alongside us if we are willing to let it happen, our faith must have a privileged place in our daily routine, and having the time we need in order to dedicate ourselves to it and work on our relationship with God is very important. Only our Lord can guide us down that path.
