Be yourself

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”
2 Corinthians 12:9

2 - Reflect
It is said that a father, having lost his job one afternoon, came home later in a listless, depressed mood. He had lost his lifelong job, the one in which he had put effort, desire, will and discipline.

The job that had seen him grow up and become a father, a family man, responsible for his children, his present and his future. However, when he crossed the door of his home, he drew on his face the best smile he could imagine and played with his children as always, lifted the table with his wife at the end of dinner, and lovingly asked her how her day had been. The father never showed a tear, on the contrary, when everyone had fallen asleep he locked himself in the bathroom to cry.

Brother, don't be afraid of your tears, don't be afraid of looking vulnerable, sensitive, sad. Show yourself this way to your loved ones, just as you are, just as you feel. Do not be afraid of your weaknesses, God is in them, to accompany you and heal you. Be honest with your emotions, you will see how you connect even more with those you love, how they will stand up to any difficulty you are experiencing. And everything will be easier, be sure of that.

Show yourself as you are, in your strengths but also in your weaknesses, because that makes you human, real and genuine, it makes you a child of the Lord. That is the only thing your Father desires, the one who is eternal and holy, the perfect one, there in Heaven: that you live in the most real part of your soul, without adornment, hypocrisy or concealment. What better than to be yourself?
