Shuffling and dealing over is a very common concept when playing cards but it costs us a lot to do it in our lives. When we are beside ourselves, lost without direction or tired of the path we knew we should choose, we begin to doubt our choices. We reprimand ourselves for things that may not have happened yet, or we boycott our decisions for achieving better goals. We convince ourselves that we can not do it, that it is very difficult or even impossible, and we are permanently devalued.
In our societies it is often frowned upon to stop for a moment, our pace is often incessant and everyone expects immediate answers. When we find the peace to implement a pause, we must take advantage of it and not let it pass. Giving ourselves over fully to meditate and think about alternatives with Our Lord is essential to keeping ourselves focused. With God's help we can go back to the beginning over and over again, adjusting what we believe should be changed, modifying our behaviors and asking for forgiveness whenever we are wrong. Going back to the beginning should not be translated into failure but quite the opposite, it is another chance to fix our mistakes and reinforce our successes. God will grant us the lesson we need in order to grow and sustain ourselves in the faith.
