2 - Reflect
"The thrill is gone, the thrill is gone", sang the blues singer BB King with his beloved guitar "Lucille" to a girlfriend. And there are a large number of people who feel that the thrill has left their home and their spiritual life with God. How are you feeling today? Is there more disease than emotion in your heart? More sadness than joy?
King David wrote: "Restore to me the joy of your salvation" (Psalms 51:12). See how this removes all the pressure? You do not have to generate your own joy; You do not have to squeeze happy thoughts from your brain. Joy is a gift of the Holy Spirit. When we allow the Spirit to speak to us through the Word, He can work and change us on the inside, our thoughts and our feelings. Everything changes when we give God His rightful place.
The Spirit communicates the message of Christ and His victory over all our worst enemies. The Holy Spirit has established His residence within you with all the power of the Almighty God. He can help you focus on your treasures, He can turn your depression into optimism; He can change your sadness into joy. When the Spirit is in control, the emotion is back, brother. Believe in His word, He has control.
I encourage you to live the fullness of joy in Christ. How do you do it? A genuine and whole-hearted relationship with Him connects your life to the heart of God. Pray more, communicate everything that happens to you, read more so He can talk to you. God wants to be your friend. Do not forget Him, and He is so loving that He has the best gift for His children. Complete happiness in Him.
