2 - Reflect
One of the most difficult lessons when we surrender to God is to accept all those things that, no matter how much we want to, we cannot change. Let us remember that change is a gradual process and that it demands a special maturing in character on our part to understand a great truth: worrying, becoming bitter or resentful about an event that is not under our control will not give us peace.
That peace will only be found through the acceptance of such an event as a work of the Lord in the purpose He has for our life. Although we cannot always control the things in life that affect our day to day lives, we do have a choice: either to continue to wallow in anguish and resentment over the situation we do not control, or to change our perspective and make decisions over what we do have full control over, in order to progress in the purpose to which the Lord has called us.
Let us do as Jesus did and work determinedly towards God's way, remembering that those things that are beyond our control must be left at the disposal of his comfort, care and concern, which is infinite and unconditional.
