2 - Reflect
I remember when I was first told about Christ, He awakened a great curiosity in me. I wanted to know everything, to know everything. I wanted to read the Bible, the very Word of God, even without studying it properly. As the years went by, although my adoration for God continued, other interests had also awakened in me, something completely normal for a teenager. God had not taken a back seat, but there were other things that were at the same level of my interest.
At times, after some time, I found myself in situations where it became important for me to choose what path I wanted for my future life. It was evident, in those cases, that the two ways of life could not coexist: there were certain things I would have to give up if I chose God's way, and others if I led the life I was leading so far. With time I understood that all this was directly related to maturity of spirit. There comes a time in life when we must be mature enough to choose, and my decision was the right one.
I still occasionally see my friends from back then, I have a lot of affection for them and fond memories of our time together; but at the same time I realize that we are no longer interested in the same things and even today I still perceive that immature spirit that I had many years ago. Today God urges us to decide for His way with all the benefits we can imagine. Think about it.
