In a world of mistrust
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”

2 - Reflect
We often tend to develop a mistrust for our brethren. It may be that someone offers to do something for us or simply give us something good and we begin to distrust. We think that maybe that person has ulterior motives or that we will have to give something in return. The truth is that many of us have lost confidence in good actions or solidarity that is born from the heart of those who perform them. These days, for some of us it is hard to believe that someone can be working out of love for their neighbor and we react defensively. We have been influenced by bad actions and by malicious thoughts.
We must accept love from others and receive what they have to give us, without thinking about what we have to do to repay them. Trusting in the Word of God the Father and following His example of communion we can give our brothers the same or more than what they gave us. To be sincere and have solidarity with those who need us, but also to recognize those who have helped us. These gestures of love and dedication will make us better: to do something for our neighbor even when they do not expect it from us. Not everyone who provides us with something will inevitably want to take advantage of it.
