Accepting our body
"Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, which you have from God, and that you are not your own?"

We live in societies in which the body is viewed often through aesthetics. There are many social pressures to achieve certain standards of beauty: many have to do with weight, size, or height, among others. Women especially are often judged by their physical appearance and because of that point of view Celeste decided to undergo plastic surgery. Her whole family was opposed, they told her that she did not need it, that it was the wrong decision, but she went with her plan.
After a while, she could see that her family and friends were right, she did not need that work done, she simply had to become aware of her own body and be able to respect it. Our body is a temple, God the Father resides in it, because we were created in His image and likeness. Because of this, we must take care of it and sanctify it in the name of Christ Our Lord. Accepting ourselves as we are implies accepting the love that God entrusted to us at the moment of creation. There may be small details in our bodies that we do not like but we do not have to give importance to that, because the real thing is inside us, in our ability to love and give to others. Comparisons and pressures are alien to God's will.
