2 - Reflect
I left home after a big argument with my wife. I walked aimlessly for a while, thinking how to resolve the problem that had arisen with my oldest son. We feared he was not in good company, and I accused my wife of coddling him too much. She accused me of not paying enough attention to him. Sadness overtook me.
I found myself doubting what to do, and my heart was aggrieved by fear and uncertainty. My problems were pressing upon me and I had no confidence in being able to solve them in time.
How often have you felt this way? Economic problems, differences with your family, perhaps an illness of our own or that of a loved one, or even someone who abandoned the right path and got into trouble, etc.
We have often felt sad, worried, and without strength. But this fear should not take root in our hearts. God talks to us about power, and self-control. Silencing our fears and lifting up our eyes to the Lord in the faith that we will have the strength to move forward, no matter what may arise in our path, that is the correct posture. Trust in our strength because it comes from Him, and master our despair to face life with Faith.
